How I help
Your journey starts with you
If you no longer feel like the woman you once were, but are not yet sure who you are becoming, this is where the work begins.
Moving abroad can change your life faster than your sense of self can adjust. Some parts of who you were still matter. Others no longer fit. And some of the reactions and rules you learned long ago may still be shaping choices in a life that now looks completely different.
I work with TRG, short for Terapia de Reprocessamento Generativo, or Generative Reprocessing Therapy in English. It is a structured therapeutic approach that works by revisiting and reprocessing experiences that still carry emotional weight, including the reactions connected to them.
The process follows five phases. This structure gives the work a clear direction, while what we focus on within each phase remains personal to you.
Online, in English or Portuguese.
One to one sessions
There is a logic behind every reaction you have. Something happened, and your mind made sense of that experience by forming a rule from it. That rule may still be running today, even though your life now looks nothing like the life in which it was written.
That rule is what we go looking for.
And there is rarely only one. As we work through one, something else may become clearer that was difficult to see before. So we work in layers, one at a time, in the order they appear, without forcing the process forward.
That is why I see this as a journey rather than a series of appointments. The work follows five phases, but what we find and work with within those phases is entirely individual to you. Each phase takes as many sessions as it needs. There is an order to the process, and we follow it, so you always know where you are and what we are working towards.
It has a beginning. It has an end. And it is going somewhere. Towards having more freedom in how you respond, instead of being pulled into the same reaction every time. Towards building a life that feels like yours, wherever you are.
That is what I am offering you. A way through.
Your journey has five phases
-
1 Where it started
We begin with your past and move forward through your life. We work with relevant experiences in chronological order, reprocessing the emotional responses connected to them.
The aim isn't to erase what happened or make you forget it. The memory remains part of your story. What we are working with is the way that experience still affects you now.
-
2 What your body kept
Not everything we experience comes with a clear story attached to it. Sometimes what you notice first is physical: a tight chest, a clenched jaw, a knot in your stomach, tension or another sensation that appears before you have even worked out why.
This phase gives those bodily responses their own place in the process.
-
3 What kept repeating
Next we work with patterns that have appeared more than once in your life. Maybe you repeatedly feel rejected or dismissed. Maybe similar problems appear in different relationships. Maybe the same kind of conflict follows you from one workplace to another, even after moving countries.
Rather than treating every occurrence as a completely separate problem, this phase works with the repetition itself.
-
4 What you're afraid of
Not everything affecting you comes from something that has already happened. Sometimes it's what you believe might happen next.
The conversation you're already worrying about. The rejection you're preparing yourself for. The flight you're afraid to take. The future you're not sure you'll be able to handle.
This phase works with those future fears and anticipations.
-
5 What you actually want
The final phase turns towards the life you want to build.
What do you want for yourself? How do you want to experience your relationships, your choices and your life? Not the version that makes sense to everyone else. Yours.
Because knowing what you don't want anymore is only part of the process. You also need to know where you want to go.

Twenty minutes, online, free, and nothing is expected of you afterwards.
Tell me what's been going on, as much or as little as you want. Ask me anything. I'll explain how I work, what a session looks like and what you can expect if we decide to start. You can also get a feel for whether I'm the right person for you.
FAQs

How long the process takes is different for everyone. We follow the five phases in order, but there is no fixed number of sessions for each phase. We'll talk about where you are in the process as we go.
Weekly is what I usually suggest. It gives you some time between sessions while keeping the work fresh. But we choose what fits your life and can adjust the frequency if needed.
-
Sessions take place by video call, so you can join from a place where you feel comfortable and have some privacy.
You will need a stable internet connection and around an hour where you are unlikely to be interrupted. Headphones can help, but they are not essential.
-
No. Sessions are self-pay and are not reimbursed by Dutch health insurance.

TRG is complementary care and does not replace medical or psychological treatment. If you're in crisis or don't feel safe right now, this isn't the right place to start.
If you're in the Netherlands and need urgent help, contact your huisarts or huisartsenpost. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112. For support with suicidal thoughts, call 113 or 0800-0113 (free).
If you're outside the Netherlands, contact your local emergency or crisis service.

Sessions are sixty minutes online, just the two of us. Your first session is ninety minutes because we begin with an intake. We talk first, and then we work.
During reprocessing, you remain conscious and aware. I guide you through the process and you respond to what comes up as we go. You never have to describe something in detail for us to be able to work with it. You can tell me a lot or very little. Both work.
You can cry, go quiet or laugh in the middle of something serious. If something comes up that you don't want to work with at that moment, tell me. Communication between us is part of the process.
There's nothing you need to prepare beforehand and no homework afterwards. Sessions are available in English or Portuguese, whichever feels most comfortable.
